Thomas Beecham chose Quinlan to manage this extensive tour of the provinces under the title of Thomas Beecham's Opera Comique Company, though Beecham himself was not in evidence. The repertoire consisted of The Tales of Hoffmann and Die Fledermaus.

Neither opera was popular at the time, and the Johann Strauss operetta was performed under the title A Viennese Masquerade.
