Russell Craig trained in New Zealand and worked there before moving to Europe.
His operatic engagements include numerous productions for Opera North, English National Opera, Glyndebourne and the Buxton Festival. Productions for Scottish Opera include Savitri, Fanny Robin, L'elisir d'amore (twice), The Marriage Contract, The Silken Ladder, Hedda Gabler, Oberon and several stagings for the small-scale Opera-Go-Round tours.
Outside Britain he has worked at Wexford, and in Germany, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, USA and Canada.
His theatre work includes designs for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Manchester Royal Exchange, Chichester Festival Theatre, Edinburgh Royal Lyceum and several other regional companies in the UK.
