Alfonso Antoniozzi as Don Pasquae with Andy Fraser, Sandra Haxton and Steven Faughy as porter, maid and cook

Sparkling Pasquale opens

Posted 27 Jan 2014

Director Renaud Doucet and designer André Barbe have produced a delightful new production of Donizetti's timeless comedy.

Set in 1960s Rome, as the fine images show, the production offers a splendid performance by Alfonso Antoniozzi and some fine singing from the cast.  There are some lovely comic touches that never cut across the music. The production team have given us a Pensione Pasquale featuring many cats in a cartoon-like setting. The production as a whole proves an evening to remember.

Only seven performances of this sparkling production are being given - four in Glasgow, three in Edinburgh. Click through our listings to see more images and book your seats here
