On this tour, the Carl Rosa were giving several performances of Traviata as an experiment. They cut back on Trovatore, just giving it one outing in Glasgow and Edinburgh, though it was still a very popular piece to tempt a Saturday night audience. This much abbreviated cast was given in Monday's Glasgow Herald. Jenny Dickerson had previously performed as the Gipsy Queen in Bohemian Girl at the matinee.
