Moldovan soprano.

Maria Tonina graduated from the Music Academy in Chisinau. In 2005 she won a scholarship sponsored by Deutsche Bank Stiftung and the Austrian State Secretariat for the Arts and Media. This allowed her to study in Vienna at the CEE Musiktheater. In the summer of 2006 at Heiligenkreuz she took part in the Summer Academy Master Classes working with Ileana Cotrubas.
