Sound festival opens

Sound kicks off this weekend with a wealth of over eighty performances, workshops, discussions and events on offer across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.  The festival, which runs from 19 October to 18 November, offers the best in new music with a strong representation of opera. The most exciting sound festival yet includes Out of the Box - four days of new operas that push boundaries, challenge and excite. Performances will take place in a lighthouse, a pub, a stables, an urban flat, around a desk and on a bus.  Works by Paul Mealor, Gareth Williams, Pippa Murphy, Oliver Searle, John Harris, Duncan Chapman and Robert Saxon are included.  Check our listings for more details and to book.
