Beethoven's Ninth is always a hugely popular work with which to close the RSNO's main season.

A decision must always be made as to the 'curtain raiser', assuming there is one.  Here we have a generous  opening sequence, starting with Beethoven's Overture to his ballet The Creatures of Prometheus.  This is followed by a premiere, commissioned by the RSNO.  The orchestra's principal flute, Katherine Bryan, will launch a new concerto by Jay Capperauld entitled Our Gilded Veins.
