This performance seems to have a powerful cast, with the company's Brünnhilde and Sieglinde as Anna and Elvira. Perhaps it should be noted that, following the preference of Adelina Patti, the most important female role in the opera was generally considered to be Zerlina.

The schedule for the two week Edinburgh season can be seen in the notes for Tannhäuser (Wagner dominated the repertoire at this time). The cast is confirmed from a programme in NLS collection, and ones dated 7 November and 14 November in the Mitchell. There is also one dated 20 November in Edinburgh Central Library.
