Lola Biagioni studied in Italy, first in Lucca at the the Conservatorio Luigi Boccherini, then in Siena with the great French dramatic soprano Madame Gina Cigna.

She spent some time in the chorus of Sadler's Wells Opera. Joining the chorus at the Royal Opera she understudied major roles, sang several small parts, and created the Singing Girl in Richard Rodney Bennett's Victory (1970). She spent a brief period in 1976 and 1977 with Scottish Opera, creating the part of Arabella in Confessions of a Justified Sinner (Wilson 1976). Other principal roles included Lady in Waiting in Macbeth, First Lady, and Donna Anna. She later rejoined the Royal Opera.
