Scottish soprano.

Moira Docherty trained as a nurse in Glasgow, studying voice with Lydia Flett.  Moving to Ellon, she joined Haddo House Choral and Operatic Society (HHCOS),  performing in their productions of Carmen and Macbeth. That sparked her love of performing and singing on stage.

She has continued her study of singing in Aberdeen at the North East of Scotland Music School, with Alison McDonald, Alan Watt and Lisa Milne.  Moira is a regular on the recital and concert platform and has sung a wide range of repertoire from Mozart to Cole Porter.  Her concert repertoire includes Handel (Messiah, Semele, Alexander's Feast), Haydn (Creation) and Mozart (Mass in C minor), as well as Paul Mealor (Stabat Mater).

Her operatic roles range through Donizetti (Adina, Lucia), Verdi (Abigaille, Violetta, Oscar), Puccini (Mimì, Tosca) and Lehár (Hanna Glawari). She also sings in musicals with Aberdeen Operatic, including Kiss Me, Kate!.
