Italian bass.

Nicola Ulivieri studied at the Bolzano Conservatory.  He won the Adriano Belli competition (Spoleto 1995) and the 1996 Riva Music Award. He also won the television competition Vincero! in 1997.

He has worked at most of the major Italian houses, including: La Scala, Milan - Mozart (Leporello, Don Alfonso) and Rossini (Don Profondo Il viaggio a Reims);  Teatro Regio, Turin - Mozart (Don Giovanni), Rossini (Don Basilio), Bellini (Sir Giorgio I Puritani); Bologna - Mozart (Figaro, Don Alfonso, Papageno); Rome - (Don Profondo, Balducci Benvenuto Cellini); Palermo (Sir Giorgio); Venice (Leporello); Trieste (Don Giovanni, Mustafà); Macerata (Oroveso); Treviso (Mustafà); Ferrara (Mustafà).

He has also sung in Paris (Rodolfo La sonnambula); Montpellier (Sir Giorgio); Amsterdam (Don Profondo); Barcelona (Rodolfo); Valencia (Don Giovanni); Bilbao (Basilio); Lisbon (Don Giovanni); Copenhagen (Don Profondo); Dresden (Basilio); Hamburg (Don Giovanni).

Appearances in the USA include: New York Met (Tutor Le Comte Ory) and Los Angeles (Alidoro La cenerentola). He has also sung in South America - Buenos Aires (Don Giovanni) and São Paulo (Don Giovanni).

Orchestral concerts include appearances with the Royal Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic and the orchestra of Radio France.

He made first appearance at the Edinburgh Festival in 2001 as Guglielmo, returning in 2017 as Colline.
