Haydn Woulds Corri

Born 1845.

Died 1876.

English baritone.

Haydn Corri came from a long line of theatrical performers. His elder brother Henry (1822-88), was a notable bass singer, with many appearances at Covent Garden, who managed the Grand English Opera Company, based at that London theatre, for several years. Their grandfather, also Haydn Corri, was  a pianist, organist and composer, born in Edinburgh in 1785. He eventually settled in Dublin, where he died in 1860. Haydn jnr sang several of the leading baritone and bass roles with his brother's Grand English Opera Company. Press descriptions indicate that he was a versatile and talented performer whose early death was unfortunate.
