Anatoly Babykin graduated from the Astrakhan Conservatoire, joining the Bolshoi Opera in 1976. His repertoire includes Ivan Susanini (A Life for the Tsar), King René (Iolanta), Prince Gremin (Eugene Onegin), Zuniga (Carmen) and Pimen (Boris Gosunov).
