Mechtild Gessendorf had a successful career in the lighter Wagner and Strauss repertoire. In 1994 she was scheduled to sing Senta in concert with Walter Weller and the RSNO, but was unable to appear. As yet we are unaware of any other Scottish appearances with the RSNO or Edinburgh Festival.
