Soprano.

Catherine has just completed her degree in Classics and English at St Andrews, where she has been heavily involved in local musical life. This is her fourth time singing with Byre Opera, with whom she played the role of Vixen Sharp-Ears in Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen, and Miss Jessel in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw. She has sung widely in concert, making her professional concert debut in 2016 as Judit in Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle with the Edinburgh Symphony Orchestra. Lately she has sung with Dame Emma Kirkby and Dowland Works in the St Andrews Voices Festival, been the soprano soloist for Handel’s Messiah with the Heisenberg Ensemble, and Fauré’s Requiem with St Andrews Chorus, and performed the world premiere of Emily Doolittle’s ‘Conversations’ with the St Andrews New Music Ensemble. She is a founding member and the current President of the University’s Opera Society, the Senior Chorister of St Salvator’s Chapel Choir, and a member of the National Youth Chamber Choir, with whom she will perform in the BBC Proms this summer.
