Jessica Conway Suggest updates

Soprano

Jess studied singing at St Mary's Music School with Margaret Aronson, where she was a finalist in the Directors' Recital Prize and recipient of the ABRSM Elizabeth Ehrlich Prize for Singing. She went on to do a Music Degree at the University of York, studying with Lynne Dawson and Sarah Rhodes. During her time at University, Jess performed regularly as a concert and opera soloist (opera roles include Adele Die Fledermaus, Gretel Hansel & Gretel and 2nd Spirit The Magic Flute). Since University, she has appeared regularly in the Edinburgh Fringe, singing Dido in Dido & Aeneas and solo baroque programmes in the Old St Paul's Hot Chocolate Concerts and Greyfriar's Kirk chamber concerts. Jess is a member of and frequent soloist with the National Youth Choirs of Scotland, with which has toured Britain and Europe and has appeared at the BBC Proms, Lammermuir Festival and Edinburgh International Festival. She also sings with Scottish-based chamber choirs Caledonian Voices and Octavoce and is a choral scholar at St Cuthbert's Church and the Robin Chapel.

Jess currently lives in Edinburgh, studying singing with Pat MacMahon and Peter Wilson. This year she performed Bach's Ich habe genug with the Edinburgh University String Orchestra and as a soloist with the Edinburgh Royal Choral Union, Kelvin Choir, St Cuthbert's Practice Choir, Edinburgh Studio Opera, Eboracum Baroque and in St Mary's Metropolitan Cathedral. She is looking forward to singing Despina in Mozart's Così fan tutte this summer. Jess also works as a freelance Arts Administrator around Scotland.
