Welsh bass.

Geoffrey Moses worked with all the major British opera companies. He studied history at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, before training in London at the Guildhall and with Otakar Kraus and Peter Harrison.

With Welsh National he made his debut in 1977 as Don Basilio, a role he sang throughout his career. His wide range of roles with that company included Monteverdi (Seneca); Mozart (Bartolo, Sarastro); Weber (Hermir & Samiel), Rossini (Basilio); Donizetti (Baldassare La favorita); Bellini (Rodolfo, Giorgio I puritani); Verdi (Jago Ernani; Sparafucile, Pistola); Wagner (King Mark); Bizet (Nourabad The Pearl Fishers, Zuniga); Puccini (Colline, Angelotti, Bonze); Strauss (Spirit Messenger Frau ohne Schatten); Janáček (Harašta) and Martinů (Fotis The Greek Passion).

Appearances with other companies in the UK include Covent Garden (Lindorf, Foltz, Ortel, Cléomer Esclarmonde, Dumas Andrea Chénier, Montano, Pistol, Fifth Jew Salome, Gremin) and Glyndebourne Tour (Commendatore, Basilio) and Festival (Starveling, Lamoral Arabella, Bartolo Nozze di Figaro, Neptune Idomeneo, Pietro & Fiesco Simon Boccanegra. Major-Domo Capriccio, Hobson Peter Grimes).

He also sang with Opera North (Bonze, Sarastro); ENO (Cecco Rienzi, Méphistophélès Faust, Vaudemont Sicilian Vespers, Angelotti); Kent Opera (Commendatore) and ETO (Gremin). With Scottish Opera he sang Don Basilio, Ferrando Il trovatore, Calatrava Forza del destino and created two roles in Friend of the People (David Horne 1999).

Abroad he appeared in Brussels (Crespel); Hamburg (Don Basilio) and Amsterdam (First Nazarene Salome).
