English baritone.

Mark Nathan completed an undergraduate music degree at Birmingham University, then graduated with distinction with a Master's degree from the Royal College of Music in London.  He continued his training in Glasgow at the Alexander Gibson Opera School.

Operatic roles at college included in Birmingham at the Barber Institute (Gob The Poisoned Kiss); Royal College (Antoine La  Vie parisienne); RCS (Director Les Mamelles de Tirésias, Death Savitri, Joseph de Rocher Dead Man Walking).

Other operatic appearances include Opera Loki (Don Giovanni, Marcello); Hampstead Garden Opera (Papageno);  Winterbourne Opera (Falke Die Fledermaus, Wagner Faust, Counsel Trial by Jury); Riverside Opera (Moralès Carmen)

He first appeared with Scottish Opera as the Potboy The Fiery Angel.  As an Emerging Artist 2019/20, he appeared on the Opera Highlights Tour (Autumn 2019). Planned roles for Spring 2020 included Starveling A Midsummer Night's Dream, Giuseppe The Gondoliers and Mr Goldbury Utopia Limited.  However these all fell victim to the mass cancellations following the Covid-19 outbreak.  Several online musical projects arose from this, notably creating Kai in a short chamber opera The Narcissistic Fish (Music by Samuel Bordoli; Libretto by Jenni Fagan).  As theatres began to re-open the two Gilbert and Sullivan productions duly emerged, with Scottish performances in the autumn of 2021 and a London visit in 2022.
