Hub, The Edinburgh

The Hub, originally built for the Church of Scotland in the 1840s, and including what was formerly known as the Victoria Hall, occupies a central and spectacular position at the top of the Royal Mile. (In the photograph the Hub is seen from Castle Terrace). Since its renovation and reopening in 1999 it is now best known as the ticketing and administrative base of the Edinburgh International Festival (EIF).

However The Hub also offers a wide range of other facilities. This attractive venue is available for conferences, weddings and other functions as well as a range of performance and artistic activity.

In addition to two smaller venues, the main hall, seating 420, has occasionally been used for concert and semi-staged performances of opera.
