Zampa was chosen to open Carl Rosa Opera's first ever visit to Edinburgh. They performed six pieces over six evenings.

Casts have been taken from a surviving programme for the week,located in the Edinburgh Room of Edinburgh City Council Libraries. This states that particular attention had been paid to the selection of the Band and Chorus.

Mr John Pew is credited as a conductor with Mr Carl Rosa, but he is not listed as taking a performance.
