Read more about the opera Carmen

Wartime touring conditions must have been difficult, but Carl Rosa and O'Mara were among the companies that kept going, both giving frequent performances of Carmen.

The two week visit of Carl Rosa to the Lyceum began on 15 March 1915.

The repertoire for the second week was: Mon Cav & Pag; Tue Tales of Hoffmann; Wed Mignon; Thu Merry Wives of Windsor; Fri Don Giovanni; Sat mat Tales of Hoffmann; Sat eve Aìda.

This Carmen cast for the first Saturday matinee is from the OperaScotland copy of the programme for the 20 March. The Saturday evening performance, equally popular, was Il trovatore.

Further dates and venues to be confirmed.
