The 1946 Scottish tour by the Royal Carl Rosa lasted eight weeks, and started on Monday, 11 March, with two weeks in Edinburgh. This time there were eight performances each week, including matinees on Wednesday and Saturday. The playing order was:

Week commencing 11 March: Mon Tosca; Tue Tales of Hoffmann; Wed mat Cav & Pag; Wed eve Madam Butterfly; Thu Faust; Fri Bohème; Sat mat Hoffmann; Sat eve Butterfly.

Week commencing 18 March: Mon Trovatore; Tue Traviata; Wed mat Cav & Pag; Wed eve Butterfly; Thu Tosca; Fri Hoffmann; Sat mat Bohème; Sat eve Faust.

The tour included, unusually, a two-week stay in Aberdeen, after Edinburgh and before the four weeks in Glasgow. The schedule was:

First week - commencing 25 March: Mon Madam Butterfly; Tue Tales of Hoffmann; Wed mat Cav & Pag; Wed eve Bohème; Thu Trovatore; Fri Faust; Sat mat Butterfly; Sat eve Tosca.

Second week - commencing 1 April: Mon Traviata; Tue Cav & Pag; Wed mat Faust; Wed eve Bohème; Thu Rigoletto; Fri Hoffmann; Sat mat Rigoletto; Sat eve Trovatore.

In Glasgow, all the operas received four performances, with the exception of Traviata (6), Butterfly (3), Hoffmann (2) and Trovatore (1).

Cast details are from a programme for Monday 11 March in the Edinburgh Room collection at Edinburgh City Library, and for Saturday 6 April (evening) in Aberdeen City Library. As with the previous year, the cast of Tosca was led by Joan Hammond and Otakar Kraus. Changes included the Welsh tenor John Myrddin as Cavaradossi. Conductor Vilém Tausky was also new.
