This Gala concert offers a great night out in Arbroath. Established in 1934, the Arbroath Male Voice Choir comprises of 40 members drawn from the Angus and Dundee regions of Scotland under the baton of Sheena Glover. The much loved annual Gala concert will showcase a variety of musical styles including opera, operetta, traditional, folk and musical theatre with special guest star Scottish soprano Melanie Gowie. Previous guest stars have included Lesley Garret, Karen Cargill, Cheryl Forbes and Margaret Keys.

Melanie Gowie (pictured) is currently in her final year at opera school at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where she studies with international opera singer Judith Howarth. Hailing from Carnoustie, Melanie studied at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama before making her West End debut at age 24 becoming one of the youngest sopranos to play the role of Carlotta in Andrew Lloyds Webber's The Phantom of the Opera. She made her operatic debut as Magda in Puccini's La Rodine and most recently sang the role of the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart. This summer Melanie is to be a young artist on the opera programme at Music Academy International in Italy.
