An interesting feature of this Carmen cast, apart from Constance Willis in the title role, is the fact that the two gypsy girls are sung by future lead singers in Eda Bennie and May Blyth. Also the role of Escamillo brings in George Baker, who would work regularly with Sir Malcolm Sargent over the next forty years, being particularly associated with the comedian roles in Gilbert and Sullivan.
