Read more about the opera Siege of Rochelle

Carl Rosa tried to revive several of Balfe's operas to supplement the ubiquitous Bohemian Girl, but The Siege of Rochelle, the composer's first piece composed for London, did not survive more than one season, and does not seem to have been risked again. Certainly the cast here is a strong one, with Santley in the role Balfe himself had created, and William Ludwig adding to his list of villains.
