Penelope Cousland Suggest updates

Mezzo-soprano.

Penelope Cousland gained a Master of Music degree from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, studying with Jane Irwin and Barbara Robotham. She was awarded the prestigious John Cameron Prize for Lieder. She then moved to Glasgow to further her training at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Alexander Gibson Opera School under the tutelage of Scott Johnson.

Penelope spent the summer of 2016 in the chorus at the Glyndebourne Festival, singing in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and The Cunning Little Vixen. She was awarded the 2016 Joaninha Trust Award and has secured a position at the National Opera Studio in London for the 2016/17 season.
