Engelbert Humperdinck Suggest updates

Born Siegburg, 1 September 1854.

Died Neustrelitz, 27 September 1921.

German composer.

Humperdinck is now remembered almost entirely for Hänsel und Gretel, based on the tale by the brothers Grimm. It remains hugely popular. Of his other operas, only Königskinder is revived occasionally. Early in his career he worked as an assistant to Wagner, especially during the rehearsal period for Parsifal.
