Susan Bullock Suggest updates

Born Cheshire.

English soprano.

Susan Bullock studied at London University, then at the Royal Academy of Music and London Opera Studio. She received the Royal Philharmonic Singer's Award (2009) and was appointed CBE in 2014.

She made early appearances with ENO in lyric roles including Cio-Cio-San and Yum-Yum, returning more recently as Minnie. Other appearances in Britain include Royal Opera (Elizabeth Gloriana), Grange Park (Kostenicka), Aldeburgh (Miss Wingrave), Scottish Opera (Minnie, Mum Greek), Opera North (Mother/Witch).

As a leading exponent of the dramatic soprano repertoire she has appeared at many of the world's leading houses. Wagner roles include Brünnhilde at the Royal Opera House, Berlin Deutsche Oper, Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro La Fenice Venice, Frankfurt, Melbourne, Tokyo, Lisbon and Toronto. She has sung Isolde at Opera North, Frankfurt, Verona and Rouen.

Strauss’s Elektra has taken her to the Royal Opera, La Scala Milan, New York Met, Florence, Prague, Washington, Stuttgart, Dresden, Frankfurt, Toulouse, Toronto and Hong Kong.

Additional appearances abroad include Emilia Marty in Frankfurt and Mrs Lovett (Sweeney Todd) at Houston.
