Clifford William Morton.

Born 15 April 1904.

Died South Africa, 5 March 1976.

English tenor.

According to family sources (his granddaughter Ruth Bourne), Clifford Morton took up singing as a professional in the face of family opposition. In 1944 he altered his stage name, and sang as Morton Clifford. His roles under that name eventually included Turiddu and Canio.
