Mezzo-soprano.

Monica Warner was a principal with the Covent Garden company.  The parts we have her singing include the lowest of the Rhinemaidens and the mother in Hansel and Gretel, usually sung by an alto, but sometimes with a dramatic soprano.  The part of Brünnhilde in The Valkyrie is sometimes taken by mezzos.  The higher top notes that feature in Siegfried and Twilight of the Gods may have stretched her voice a shade too far.
