Friends of Scottish Opera

Strike a blow for culture: help support Opera across the nation

Over the last few years we have all been aware of cuts to government funded services. Support for the arts, including opera, has suffered also. It is therefore all the more important for us to sustain and build the opera loving community, audience numbers, and efforts to find other funding.

One way of doing this, and a satisfying one, is to join Friends of Scottish Opera.

Scottish Opera has more than 1,600 Friends all over Scotland and further afield who feel a special loyalty towards the Company.

Aims

The Friends of Scottish Opera was established to encourage people to attend Scottish Opera’s performances, maintain close links with the Company, promote an interest in opera generally, and to fundraise to support the Company.

Friends receive advance notice of all Scottish Opera’s activities and priority booking of Scottish Opera performances at the Theatre Royal Glasgow, Festival Theatre Edinburgh, His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen and Eden Court, Inverness.

Friends’ events are open to all. Find out what’s happening near you and keep up to date with Company and Friends’ news. Take part in the conversation

Local programmes of talks and trips in Glasgow, Perth, Stirling and Dundee.

Occasional Friends’ musical events in Edinburgh and Dumfries.
