Witches of Paisley

The Witches of Paisley is to be Paisley Opera’s first major production and will be performed on December 8 and 9 at Paisley Abbey.

It is a dramatisation of the events of the last major witch hunt in Western Europe.

Opera Highlights hits the road again

New Year, new tour

Scottish Opera’s hugely popular Opera Highlights tour kicks off once again in February, travelling to 14 smaller, more remote venues the length and breadth of Scotland, from Lerwick in the north to Castle Douglas in the south. Having already journeyed to 17 venues across the country in the Autumn, the Spring tour begins on 6 February in Livingston.

Birth of another Scottish opera group

It's great to hear of another new venture in the world of opera.

The company, Le Petit Verre, has just announced their very first production, Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel. This lovely score will be given by twenty-five young musicians. This sounds just what is needed to brighten the wintry nights.

Shows will take place in the Central Hall of the Assembly Roxy, Edinburgh, on November 9th and 11th at 7:30 pm.
